Where Mississippi Hospitality Feeds Homebound Seniors

You’re invited to join us in Feeding Hernando Homebound Seniors

Meals on Wheels Hernando is a non-profit, food-based, community-outreach organization.

We provide food and other caring connections for senior adults and those in the Hernando MS Community who are disabled and/or unable to consistently provide quality nutrition for themselves.
Our Seniors receive meals Tuesdays and Thursdays prepared by Parish and delivered by our volunteers. If you’d like to help us help Hernando Seniors live a better life, click ► HERE.

Our Providers

We would be unable to feed our Hernando MS seniors without the support of several area restaurants and food services. In years past, church members would prepare meals at home and deliver them to those who need assistance with their nutrition. But those days are no more.

All food that we deliver must be prepared by professional chefs and food employees in approved and licensed kitchens.

A strict business relationship exists between Meals on Wheels Hernando and our food providers. All dinners are paid for.

Our seniors depend on all of us.

Food Providers

We are only able to provide this mission because of the dedication of our food partners.  We cannot say enough wonderful things about them. They are a blessing to Hernando Meals on Wheels, and more importantly, to our recipients.

If you are interested in becoming a food partner with Hernando Meals on Wheels, please give us a call at 662-403-0944 or email us hernandomealsonwheels@gmail.com

Parish

Parish Restaurant in Hernando is a relative newcomer to providing meals but has actually been with us from the beginning back when they were Juniors. The name is different but the commitment to great food for our home-bound seniors remains the same.

When you purchase lunch at Parish on Tuesdays and Thursdays, a portion of your bill is donated to Meals on Wheels Hernando. When you see the folks from Parish, please thank them.

Our Volunteers

Meals on Wheels Hernando would not be possible without a dedicated group of volunteers. Each week, these faithful folks convey the love and care of Christ as they deliver hot meals to needy seniors in Hernando, Mississippi.

Hollie Moore

I have been in the insurance industry for 9 years, starting out my career at State Farm. During my years as a sales agent, my knowledge of the business grew, but I always had a strong desire to give back. After I went into business for myself at Alfa Insurance in 2017, I was able to direct some of my attention to doing just that.

I started my blessing box shortly after opening my office. My husband built the box, we painted it, and put the phrase “Take what you need. Give what you can. Above all be blessed.” I never could have imagined the impact this little box would have, not only from people getting what they needed but from the hundreds of donations we have received to keep it stocked. It stays outside the office and it is open 24/7, so people don’t have to come in and ask for anything, and that lifts a burden of embarrassment that some people might have.

By having this blessing box, I have been able to see the best in people and it has humbled me more than words can say.

I also was a part of Meals on Wheels during 2019/2020.

You know who you are!
